Spring Training Dates Set

The dates for spring training have been set! This year we will be holding sessions indoor at the Panorama Tennis Courts. This is an opportunity for players from all ages to come out and spend some time warming those baseball muscles up. Skills will be taught and refined so that all players can have a more enjoyable experience playing ball.

We will also be having a signup sheet for those interested in coaching, assistant coaching, or managing a team. We can’t play ball without you volunteers! Come out and lend a hand at the training sessions.

  1. is ‘rookie minors’ the same as mini minors? My son is reg’d in mini minors.

    • Rookie-minors is another level of baseball with the age groups overlapping.
CSLL found that we were losing kids in the 8-10 age group because of two main
      reasons :
      – the wide range of skill at younger levels
Some kids are just learning to play while others are ready for a full on game.
We all want to play at our own level….it’s more fun.
      – the big jump from MiniMinors to Minors
To allow the kids who are not ready for the hard ball and full time player
pitching to develop one more year.

We hope to develop players so they are ready for the next level of baseball while
keeping the fun in it for everyone.

      I hope this helps.

    • Rookie Minors enhances the level of play for the levels above as well. Rookie minors have an extra year of development prior to getting to Minors and the club’s Minors teams become stronger and more developed as do the Majors. This level of play is a great addition for our club for our players development as a whole.

Jen, depending on your child’s age and skill level, he may be placed in either Mini Minors or Rookie Minors. We encourage you to come out to some of the clinics and chat with the coaches there.
