We now stretch out a little further as we move to a 54′ pitch and 80′ base path. Lead offs and stealing are allowed. We continue to branch out to be part of an even larger baseball community. We play Little League teams from Victoria and the mainland as well as some BC Minor Bantam teams. There are about 25 Junior teams in BC Little League. You may be asked to travel on the island and/or a day trip to Vancouver 1 or 2 times per year. In the past we have picked teams up from the ferry, fed them a meal and taken them back to the ferry. We have been fortunate enough to have them feed us when we travel there also. We have adult umpires scheduled for each game. Use of the indoor training facility is provided.
NEW for 2025 – a travel ball team will be made in March. This team will practice Friday nights and play AA and AAA teams plus a tournament in Vancouver. Participation in the regular season spring teams is mandatory.
Near the end of spring baseball, the Junior division combines to make one District team (all of Victoria). This team plays in the provincial tournament. The winner of provincials moves onto Canadians. The winner of Canadians moves onto the World Series in Taylor, Michigan USA.
Cost – $225
Registration – December through February. Click on the REGISTRATION tab above.
Season – April through June
Practices – Tue and Thu
Games – Typically a double header Sunday with some Thursdays. Most games are held at our home park but some weekend travel to Vancouver is required. Often 2-3 times during season. These are day trips with no overnight required.
Teams play at Diamond 6. You can see this location on our map below. Full schedules are released in late March.
Volunteering – there are no league volunteer duties required from parents. However, everyone must take part in team volunteer duties such as field setup, take down, scorekeeping, and helping to provide a fun atmosphere for all. Teams provide meals between games for visiting teams from Vancouver. They provide meals for us also. It’s a great way to connect as a community. Coaches already do so much we would expect parents to provide all of this.
Equipment – players should wear running shoes or molded cleats, a jock/jill, and have a baseball glove. Metal cleats are currently allowed. Everything else is provided including a team uniform, helmet, and bat. NOTE – we prefer you buy your own helmet to avoid any potential head lice issues.
