CSLL 8-10 tournament team wins at Nanaimo

It was another great outing by our 8-10 tournament team as they won at the 2016 Nanaimo Pirates All-star Summer Smash tournament this past weekend. Twelve teams competed from Nanaimo, Comox, Cloverdale, Campbell River, Seattle, White Rock, Oceanside, Lakehill, Richmond and Central Saanich.

Our team went 3-0 in round robin play finishing 2nd in pool play. They overcame White Rock, Seattle and Lakehill clubs. It was off to the semi-finals against Nanaimo. After a convincing 8-1 win there they settled in for the final against White Rock. Our boys won the final game by a score of 9-3.

They pitched all 10 of their eligible pitchers throughout the tournament. That type of teaching combined with strong batting and defence goes to show that our development program is working. We want to teach the game as fast-paced, simple and fun. That keeps the kids coming back. Then we can use those techniques to include skill based lessons….repetitions and muscle memory.

Great work everyone!
