Divisions

Programs for ages 3 thru 16. Our divisions cross ages so that we can better match skill levels. We believe this keeps kids having more fun when playing at their level.

BLASTBALL – ages 3-4

This program is designed to make little ones want to come to the park! Blastball is all about having fun and being part of a community.

Times are Wed 6-7pm and Sat 1030-1130pm

TBALL – ages 4-6

Want to have fun and learn some skills? This is for you. This is an introduction to baseball keeping the program fun, fast and simple. We run a quick warmup followed by skill based stations. We then get into a quick 2 inning game finished off with the always popular dragon race!!

Times are Wed 6-7pm and Sat 10-11am

MINI MINORS – ages 5-7

We run the same model as Tball but now we are seeing more plays being made! We want the kids to keep practicing their skills but also have the chance to use those skills in more games. The players will learn to start pitching after the May long weekend. We use coaches to keep the speed of the game moving so more batters can hit and more plays can be made.

Times are Thu 6-7pm and Sat 1130am-1pm

ROOKIE MINORS – ages 7-9

Time to play baseball! Kids pitch!! That’s right…we hire credible resources to train our coaches how to teach kids pitching mechanics from a 38′ mound. Worried about the speed of the game…no need…we also use coaches to keep the speed of the game moving. They come in after 3 balls. No batter walks. Batters either hit or strike out. We run dedicated practice nights and dedicated games. We still believe in running stations and keeping the pace fast and fun. We have 2 umpires scheduled for each game.

Times are Mon 6-8pm and Sat 130-330pm (some interlocking with other Victoria teams may result in different weekend times)

MINORS – ages 8-10

We now move to a 46′ pitching mound. Kid’s pitch full time. We run fast, fun paced stations as well as teaching game/position strategies. There are dedicated practice nights and game nights. You can expect to practice twice a week and play 1-2 games per week. Base stealing is allowed (no lead offs). We have 3 umpires scheduled for each game.

The Minors division has a tournament team which plays at the District (City) championships (first week of July). The winner of that moves onto provincials. Did you know our 2017 Minors team placed 3rd at Provincials!!!

Practices – Tues 6-8pm, Sun (some weeknights will be games)

Games – typically Sat/Sun with varying times depending on interlocking with other Victoria teams. You may travel within Victoria 2-4 times per season. Most games are held at our home park.

MAJORS – ages 10-12

The game remains at a 46′ pitching mound and 60′ a base path but the level of play is much higher. There are dedicated practice nights and game nights. More dedication to attendance is expected at this level and higher. Base stealing is allowed (no lead offs).  We have 3 umpires scheduled for each game.

In the past we have picked teams up from the ferry, fed them a meal and taken them back to the ferry. We have been fortunate enough to have them feed us when we travel there also.  We have 3 umpires scheduled for each game.
